Bundled with cables for use with cameras and mobile devices in run-and-gun shoots, vlogging, and mobile journalism, the Synco Mic-M3 camera-mount shotgun microphone delivers sharper directionality and more sonic flexibility than the Synco Mic-M1, plus the ability to monitor your signal in real time.

Two AAA batteries (available separately) grant up to 50 hours of run time without monitoring or up to 10 hours of use with monitoring. Two detachable 3.5mm cables are included—one TRS cable for use with cameras and one TRRS cable for connection to a smartphone or tablet. A dedicated 3.5mm headphone output lets you listen to your mic signal while the mic's main output remains connected to your camera or mobile device.

Activate the 100 Hz high-pass filter to reduce rumble and bass buildup, and use the 3-position gain control to optimize the signal level before it reaches your recorder. The supplied shockmount, which easily attaches to the shoe mount of your camera or the 1/4"-20 thread of a tripod, mitigates the transfer of vibration and camera handling noise.

Directional Capture

Most onboard microphones found in cameras and mobile devices pick up sound in a 360° area, which yields more extraneous sound than is desired. The Mic-M3 features a shotgun element with a supercardioid polar pattern to deliver more focused capture in front of the mic along with increased rejection at the sides and reduced sensitivity at the rear.

Connects to Your Camera or Mobile Device

The Mic-M3 is designed for compatibility with an array of devices. It includes a detachable 3.5mm TRS cable for hookup to your camera, DSLR, or portable audio recorder and a detachable 3.5mm TRRS cable for connection to a smartphone or tablet.

Real-Time Audio Monitoring

A dedicated 3.5mm headphone output lets you monitor the audio in real time through your favorite headphones to ensure it is free of distortion as it continues on to your recording device.

50 Hours of Run Time

Powered by two AAA batteries (available separately), the Mic-M3 can run for up to 30 to 50 hours without audio monitoring or up to 10 hours with monitoring. The Mic-M3's red power LED stays lit during recording so you can ensure proper operation at a glance.

High-Pass Filter

The switchable high-pass filter can be set to flat or 100 Hz to roll off low-frequency noise from common sources such as camera handling, air conditioners, and traffic. A third position on the high-pass filter switch turns the microphone off.

3-Position Gain Switch

Use the Mic-M3's gain switch to achieve optimal signal levels without clipping. The +10 dB position provides a gain boost that allows you to avoid excessive gain on camera preamps, which tend to induce unwanted noise. The flat setting is ideal when routing the mic into a dedicated high-quality preamp, while the -10 dB position reduces gain to prevent distortion when capturing loud sound sources.

Detachable Shoe/Tripod Shockmount

The detachable shockmount features a shoe mount and a 1/4"-20 thread, making it equally easy to attach to a camera or mount atop a tripod. The shockmount decouples the Mic-M3 from your recording device and reduces vibration and stand/camera handling noise.

Windscreen Reduces Wind Noise

The Mic-M3 is supplied with a foam windscreen that conveniently slips over the microphone. Once in place, the windscreen reduces wind noise from fans, heaters, air conditioners, and breezes.
